Agent filing · included with Studio

File your own registrations. Let an agent do the typing.

Sonifide already knows your splits, your IPI, your ISRCs and your ownership. The part that still eats a weekend is retyping all of it into the MLC, SoundExchange, your PRO, and the U.S. Copyright Office — six portals, none of which talk to each other.

Install Claude Code on your own computer, pair it with your Sonifide account once, and click File with Claude on any track. Claude opens each portal in your browser, under your login, and fills the forms from your Sonifide data. You approve every submission.

Your passwords stay yours

Sonifide never asks for, stores, or transmits an MLC, SoundExchange, PRO or eCO credential. There is nothing on our servers to breach, because the login happens in your browser on your machine.

You stay the filer of record

A copyright registration is a sworn legal declaration with a fee attached. It should be signed by the person who owns the work — you — not by a vendor acting on your behalf.

Nothing runs without you

A Sonifide link can only pre-fill the prompt; it can never send it. You press Enter. Then Claude stops and asks again before anything is submitted or paid.

What it walks you through

  • Your PRO (BMI / ASCAP / SESAC)

New-work registration, writer and publisher shares, IPI numbers — including the 200% writer-share trap that gets filings rejected.

  • The MLC

Notification of Works so your mechanical royalties have somewhere to land instead of the black box.

  • SoundExchange

Repertoire submission for the master side — the money most independent artists never claim.

  • U.S. Copyright Office (eCO)

Standard Application, with the deposit copy already renamed to the Office's file convention.

  • ISRC

Generating codes correctly off your registrant prefix, sequentially, never reused.

Claude pauses for you at every login screen and CAPTCHA, and stops for an explicit yes before any submit button or payment. Filing fees are paid by you, to the registry, with your own card — Sonifide never touches them.

Setup · about 5 minutes, once

Three steps

Before you start — you need a paid Claude plan (Pro or Max, from claude.com/pricing), Chrome or Edge, and a Sonifide Studio plan. Claude Code is a terminal tool. If “open a terminal” is not a sentence you want in your week, the done-for-you filing service exists for exactly that reason and files the same registrations.

  1. 1

Install Claude Code and sign in

Open Terminal and run this. Then run claude once and follow the sign-in prompt — this first real session is also what registers the claude-cli:// link handler, which is what makes the Sonifide button work.

    curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash
  2. 2

    Add the Sonifide plugin

Inside a running claude session, paste both lines. This installs the filing skills — /sonifide:connect, /sonifide:register, /sonifide:check and /sonifide:status.

    /plugin marketplace add https://github.com/thewokenheart/sonifide-claude-plugin.git
    /plugin install sonifide@sonifide-tools
  3. 3

    Pair it with your account

In Sonifide go to Registration → File with Claude and generate a pairing code. Then run the command below and paste it in. The code works once and expires in 15 minutes; what gets stored on your machine afterwards is a token that only reads your own catalog.

    /sonifide:connect

Then, for every track

Hit File with Claude next to any track in Sonifide. A terminal opens with the prompt already typed. Read it, press Enter, and work through the portals with Claude. When a filing lands, Claude writes the confirmation number straight back into your Sonifide filing log.

Straight answers

Can Sonifide see my MLC or PRO password?+

No — and not in a 'we promise' way, in a 'there is no field for it' way. The plugin has no place to put a registry credential and the API it talks to has no endpoint that accepts one. Claude signs in through the browser session you're already signed into.

What can the paired token actually do?+

Read your own catalog's filing data and write back a registration status and confirmation number. That's the whole surface. It can't change your splits, your billing, your password, or anyone else's account, and you can revoke it from Sonifide at any time.

Can a link on a website make Claude do something without me?+

No. A claude-cli:// link can only pre-fill the prompt box; sending it requires you to press Enter, and the session shows a 'Prompt from an external link' warning until you do. That boundary is enforced by Claude Code itself, not by us.

Who's legally filing?+

You are. You sign the eCO declaration, you pay the fee, your name is on the registration. Sonifide supplies the data and keeps the record.

What if a portal changes its layout?+

Claude reads the page it's actually looking at, so a moved button isn't fatal the way a hardcoded script would be. If something genuinely doesn't match, it stops and asks instead of guessing. We review the walkthroughs against the live portals regularly.

Do I have to use this?+

No. Agent filing is an option, not a replacement. The done-for-you service still exists, and every export — CWR, ERN, eCO bundle, PRO registration sheets — still downloads exactly as before.
